I'm Karan, a photographer Sunbury locals book when they want soft, considered portraits or business image content with a calm, easy feel. I'm based in Melton, around 25 km south of Sunbury, so I'm out that way regularly. Sunbury has a different feel to a lot of the western suburbs. More space, more open paddocks, more of a country-edge vibe, which suits the kind of natural-light portrait work I love most.
I'm easy going by nature with a positive attitude. That helps when families turn up tired from the school run or business owners are tight on time. Sessions move at a sensible pace and the photos come out looking like real moments. If you're nearby and weighing things up, get in touch and we'll work out a time.
Services I Offer as a Photographer in Sunbury
As your photographer in Sunbury, I cover the four main service areas plus the three sub-niche specialties.
- Family portraits, in your home or on location around Sunbury.
- Newborn sessions, usually in your home, in baby's first 14 days. Calm, soft, image-led.
- Maternity portraits between 28 and 34 weeks. Outdoor sessions in soft afternoon light suit Sunbury's open paddocks well.
- Headshots and corporate portraits for Sunbury professionals, founders and small teams.
- Portrait sessions for personal use, family records, or content libraries.
- Commercial photography for Sunbury small businesses needing image content for the website, social, and ads.
- Product photography for makers, retailers and hospitality venues in and around Sunbury.
If you want to dig into a specific service, the family photographer Melton, portrait photographer Melton and newborn photographer Melton pages walk through the detail of what's covered.
Why Sunbury Locals Book Me as Their Photographer
A few reasons people in Sunbury end up working with me as their photographer.
The first is the look. Sunbury has space that most of Melbourne's west doesn't. Open paddocks, treelines, and big sky. That gives outdoor sessions a feel you can't easily replicate closer to the CBD. Maternity, family and lifestyle portraits often look their best out there, especially around the 90 minutes before sunset.
The second is convenience. I'm a short drive away and I cover Sunbury, the surrounding rural pockets, and across to photographer in Gisborne on the same northern run. If you're closer to Melton than Sunbury, the photographer in Diggers Rest area / Melton coverage applies too. Means we don't have to play scheduling tetris.
The third is the breadth of work I cover. Same photographer for the maternity session, the newborn session a couple of months later, then the family portraits at one and three years old. Or the same photographer for a small business owner who needs a headshot and product images in the same week.
A few practical Sunbury notes for sessions:
- Late afternoons in the warmer months work beautifully for outdoor portraits.
- Open parkland around Sunbury suits family sessions where the kids need room to move.
- For newborns, in-home is almost always the right call. Saves dragging baby out the door.
- For headshots, we can work in your office, on-location, or set up something simple at the venue you choose.
If you'd like to chat through a specific spot you have in mind, send it through and I'll let you know if it'll work for what you're after.
