Meet Karan Gill, Photographer Based in Melton

Karan Gill photographer is what most people put into Google when they want to find me, so this is a quick page about who I am, how I work, and what to expect when you book a session. I'm a Melton-based photographer working across Melbourne's western and north-western suburbs, and my work covers commercial, product, portrait and family photography.

Why I Started Working as Karan Gill Photographer

I started Karan Gill Photographer because I love seeing the beauty in the everyday and capturing that for my clients. The bio I keep on the front of my site says it best, and it's worth keeping it on this page too:

I'm easy-going on shoots because I think that's what gets the best frames out of people. A relaxed family is a photogenic family. A relaxed founder makes for a better headshot. A calm hospitality crew lets me catch the genuine atmosphere of their venue.

What I Specialise in as Karan Gill Photographer

The work I take on as Karan Gill Photographer falls into four categories. Most weeks I'll touch all of them.

Commercial photography. Branding shoots, marketing campaign images and event coverage for local businesses. I've worked with hospitality venues like Marnong Estate, Club Sunbury and Itahlia Restaurant, and beverage brands including Tanqueray. Family photography. Family portraits, generations shoots, milestones, first birthdays and cake smashes. I welcome families from every community and I'm comfortable working with multi-generational and culturally specific celebrations. What ties the four together is the shared approach. Listen first, plan well, shoot with patience, deliver promptly. The technical side matters, but technique on its own doesn't make a photo work. The connection in the room is what does.

Working with Karan Gill Photographer

A few practical notes for what working with Karan Gill Photographer looks like. I'm a one-person operation. You email me, I reply. You meet me at the shoot. I edit the images and deliver them. There's no account manager or assistant in between, which keeps the brief clean and the work consistent.

I'm based in Melton and cover the wider west and north-west of Melbourne. That includes Werribee, Sunbury, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Caroline Springs, Bacchus Marsh, Taylors Hill, Sydenham, Truganina, Tarneit and beyond.

I shoot in studio for product and headshot work, on location for portraits and families, and either at your venue or my studio for commercial briefs. I bring my own gear and lighting, and I work fast enough that we're never running over without a reason.
